If there’s one thing that genuinely changed my skin over the years, it wasn’t a facial, a treatment, or an expensive serum. It was wearing sunscreen every single day.
Not only on holiday. Not only when it’s sunny. Just every day. I struggled with pigmentation for years. I knew exactly what I was supposed to do. Protect my skin from UV exposure consistently. But the problem was: I couldn’t find a sunscreen I actually liked wearing.
Chemical filters often made my skin react or break out. Mineral formulas felt thick, greasy, heavy, or left my skin looking pale and dull. So like many people, I wore sunscreen inconsistently. Which is usually where the problem starts.
When we started developing Le Rub, I went very deep into the research behind UV damage, pigmentation, collagen breakdown, inflammation, and skin ageing. And the more I learned, the clearer it became: daily UV exposure affects the skin more than almost anything else.
Not overnight. Quietly. Gradually. Over years.
Pigmentation that keeps returning. Skin that starts looking less even. Loss of firmness. Fine lines. Sensitivity. Dullness.
A huge part of skin ageing is not simply age itself. It’s cumulative sun exposure over time. And I think that’s what people sometimes underestimate. We often think about sun damage as something that happens on holiday, after burning your skin at the beach. But it’s really the small, everyday exposure that changes the skin slowly over time. Walking outside. Sitting near windows. Driving. Living your life.
This is also not about fear, because the sun is beautiful. It affects mood, energy, wellbeing. But protecting your skin daily genuinely changes how your skin behaves long term.
My skin feels calmer now. More even. More stable somehow. Less reactive. And one of the biggest differences for me personally is that my pigmentation no longer continuously comes back the way it used to.
I think people are often searching for one product that will completely transform their skin. But healthy skin is usually the result of small habits repeated consistently over time. And sunscreen is probably one of the most important ones.
The truth is: there’s very little point in investing in expensive serums, masks, or treatments if your skin isn’t protected during the day. You can stimulate collagen, hydrate deeply, and use the best active ingredients in the world, but if your skin is exposed to UV every single day without protection, you’re constantly undoing part of that work.
Daily sunscreen is not an “extra” skincare step. It’s the foundation of skin health. And honestly, this is not even about Le Rub specifically.
If you already found another sunscreen you genuinely love wearing every day, keep using it. Because the best sunscreen is always the one you actually apply consistently. Every morning. All year round. Again and again.
That’s where the real difference happens.
“The best skincare results usually come from the things you do every single day.”
